Folly

ABOUT FOLLY

Folly is a piece of theatre made out of poetry and music, that I wrote with excellent musician (and human) Nuala Honan. There’s lots of things to read and listen about it below. We toured it around the UK and Australia (with an Artists International Development grant from ACE and the British Council – thanks guys!) and now we have put it to bed. But we are intending to write something new together in the future so watch this space!

ABOUT FOLLY

We Built A Folly.

We’ve written a new show, Folly. It’s a piece of spoken word written by me, with a full guitar score by my beautiful and brilliant friend Nuala Honan. She has website: http://nualahonan.tumblr.com/

Sometimes we think its a play, sometimes we think its a miserable poetry musical. Sometimes we think its a story with a soundtrack. Sometimes when rehearse, Nuala wears a giant brown moroccan jilaaba, and I shout and pretend Gus Fairbairn is sitting on a trunk in the corner of the room.

Imagine what happens when a grumpy yorkshire poet lady and a grumpy australian musician lady get together and write about trains, planes, heartbreak and cheap booze. Its that. I love it.

We did a preview at The Cube in Bristol on 20th December 2012 with Alabster DePlume’s Copernicus ensemble. .
